EDMER FALL FEST SEPT 22

Hello, Edmer Avenue and Edmer Friends & Family members:

The EDMER FALL FEST BLOCK PARTY is confirmed for Saturday, September 22, on the 1100 block of Edmer.  Sponsored by The Edmer Betterment Crew — and since you are all members of the crew, you are all sponsors.

Cost:  $7 per person.  Please drop payment off at Sullivan’s, 1130 Edmer (mail box is fine… write your name on envelope).  Chase QuickPay/Zelle is great, too (send to rasullivan@mac.com)  Yes, extended friends and family from outside Edmer are welcome and encouraged ($7 per person).

POTLUCK COMMUNITY TABLE:
  • It’s annual: The Fall Festival Chili Event…now in its 3rd year!  The response is always fantastic…and delicious…and a blast.  Bring out your secret recipes, tailgate showstoppers, personal family faves….we want it all.  Crock pots work really well here.
  • If you’d like to bring something other than a pot of delicious soul-warming chili, how about any of your favorite fall tailgating dishes:
  • Cheese plates and Appetizers — can anyone top Jean’s bar setting 5-star creation from last year?  That work of art was a work fo art (still hoping someone can pull off a bloomin’ onion)
  • Pie and Dessert (pie is just good food, so is chocolate…as in, John Kregor Derby Pie and the Linda Merchant Key Lime Experience)
  • Renegade Entries To Amaze and Delight — hell yez!  Feel free to go overboard and show off a little.  (I’m recalling Bernard’s mighty awesome citrus salmon board from last year and Aaron’s smoked butt from ‘16)
  • Volunteer Grill Chef for brats and hotdogs (oddly, kids aren’t huge fans of chili)
  • Wine Selections (especially the red and white ones) — pull out a tasty selection from the home rack and round out the grape offerings (whiskey and tequila are always welcome, too…just sayin’)

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE.  WE NEED YOU!  And, when you get a moment, please send me an email to let us know your plans.  We will coordinate and facilitate from here.

Your contribution of $7 per person covers the following:
  • Bouncy house
  • Beer Keg and beer cups (if Oliver greets our keg selection with a smile…it’s a win/win all the way around)
  • Soft drinks and waters
  • Crackers, shredded cheese and toppings for the chilis
  • Hot dogs and brats for the grill
  • Buns for the brats and hotdogs
  • Condiments
  • Daytime snacks and treats
  • Bowls, napkins, spoons, plates, serving ladles, etc

General idea of schedule:
10a-6p       Bouncy House (thank you, Jason Washburn, for once again coordinating) plus Daytime Snacks, Treats and Grilled Dogs at appropriate times

5p-11p      Cockpots are gathered, the grill is fired up and food is on…the bar is still open (having opened earlier in the day)

7:30p        Outdoor movie (tbd…pending weather and the charitable graces of Jim Wangerow)

More details to come, so please stay tuned.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Edmer Fall Fest - and remember, better is better so always make it better.

Warm regards,

Rick & Marni
