Hi all - Anyone interested in speed bumps in the alley?
ReplyDeleteResidents can petition for the installation of speed bumps in their alley. Note these are two different alleys; an east-west alley between Edmer and Ridgeland, and an east-west alley between Rossell and Edmer. So two separate petitions should be submitted.
For the petition to be valid, signatures representing at least 51% of the alley frontage must be obtained.
For businesses, the business owner or manager must sign the petition. Or if there are multiple businesses within one building, signatures from at least 51% of the businesses within the building OR the building owner must sign the petition.
After collecting the necessary signatures on the petition and generating the letter of explanation; please forward all documents to my attention for processing.
Note that speed humps are removed from the alley during the winter season for snow removal purposes.
Regarding motorists that disobey the DO NOT ENTER signs on your block, this is an enforcement issue. Your email has also been forwarded to the Police Department for response on this issue.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding this email or the petition process.
